About Us
Our family business has been operating since 2010 and is based on the belief that our customers' needs are of the utmost importance. We are committed to meeting those needs. As a result, a high percentage of our business is from repeat customers and referrals.

I have been running my own Pool Inspection business since 2010 and prior to this, I inspected pools for local government. I also now do pool fence repairs and installations to a maximum price of $3300. My work is guaranteed and I have both Public and Professional Liability Insurance.

My services include -
Pool Fence Safety Inspections

Your first inspection

A Pool Fence Safety Inspection will typically take between 30 - 60 minutes to complete.  During this time I will be checking for things like gaps more than 100mm under panels etc. Gates that don't self-close and self-latch from ANY position, climbable objects within the 900mm Non-Climbable Zone, latch height, loose panels and gaps between the fence uprights to name just a few.

What happened if it fails first inspection?

If your pool barrier fails first inspection because your gate didn't work quite right or you don't have a compliant CPR chart up in the pool area but everything else is OK, then I will adjust and lubricate the gate and/or put up a compliant CPR chart for free. I can even supply you with a compliant CPR chart for just $30 each. This way you save on the 2nd or re-inspection fee and also get your certificate faster.  Handy if the settlement date is not far off.

If your pool fails first inspection, a certificate of non-compliance and a comprehensive report with repair quote is forwarded to you via email. a re-inspection must be asked for by the pool owner within a 90 day period even if they suspect that it will still fail the inspection.

Pool Safety Certificates

Only once your pool has passed final inspection and complies with the Pool Safety Laws will your pool be issued with a signed Pool Safety Certificate for your property.

Safety Standard Consultations

If you have a pool but are NOT thinking of selling or renting but you want to make sure you are fully compliant with the current Qld Pool Safety Regulations, You have the option of having a Safety Standard Consultation done. This will ensure that when the State or Local Gov inspectors come knocking at your door looking to do a Pool Safety audit, you don't have to panic. There are several options available for you to choose from and they are listed below.

State Government enforcement officers have begin random audits of properties with pools. Any pool barrier that does not comply regardless of whether you are selling/renting or not, may receive and on the spot fine.

verbal consultation -I will walk with you around your pool and discuss any possible areas of concern and suggest remedies where needed.  No written report is provided but a free after visit service is provided for information given over the phone or via email.

written consultation -I will walk with you around your pool area and discuss any possible areas of concern and suggest remedies where needed.  I will  also provide you with a written report which will include descriptions of repairs required using the photos I take at the time of inspection and, as always, a free after visit service is provided for information given over the phone or via email.

second consultation visit -If you've completed the reported repairs and would like to have confirmation that all is compliant, I will come back and do a further inspection.

    Your obligations

By now, all pool/spa owners should know the pool fencing Legislation to some degree. If you are audited, it will be assumed that you do have this knowledge. Remember, to ignore something does not make it go away. Ignorance is no excuse.

Remember, penalties of up to 165 penalty units ($19,437) can apply for non-compliance.
If you are not sure about the new Laws, call or email me and I will provide you with any information you need all for free with no obligation.  Further information can be found at the QBCC Website under Pool Safety

Some things you may not know

Anti-climb additions to your pool fence*

How safe are pool fences really.

Well, that’s a question I will leave for others to debate. As a pool fence inspector, I am constantly questioned about the validity of pool fencing and so I began searching for a better, safer option for my clients.
The fact is, short of building your pool in a concrete bunker with a 24/7 armed guard at the door, it’s better to have them than to not have pools fenced at all. A pool fence is only there to slow your child down long enough to allow the designated responsible adult to get to them before they make it to the pool.

But what if it’s a neighbour’s child that has wondered in while you are out or your child while you answer the front door? It may take only seconds for a tragedy to occur without a fence and maybe only tens of seconds with one if the child can climb it. We’ve all seen the videos on the news and YouTube.  I have noticed that all these videos have one thing in common.  I have taken a screen shot of four popular child climbing videos and posted them below. See if you can see the common factor.
    Did you see it?

That’s right. All of these children are resting their body weight on the nice flat top rail to either reach up to the latch or to roll over to the other side of the fence. Yes even the one climbing over the loop top fence.

Is there a solution? Well probably not a 100% foolproof one but I think I can lower those odds a
bit. A row of 10-15mm high polypropylene pointed cones designed to give maximum discomfort with minimum harm. With the proper guidance from the parents and the feeling of some uncomfortable spikes when they first reach up to grab a hold on that top rail, these anti-climb spikes will further deter (notice I didn’t say prevent) kids from climbing and putting their body weight on a now UN-comfortable top rail.

If you would like to enquire about these anti-climb additions to your pool fence or even your boundary fence, please find some additional info below and our contact details on the last page.
Thank you and safe summer swimming
